The valslide leg curl builds strong hamstrings and glutes while testing your core stability. It's a killer move for stronger legs and better balance.
1. Lie on your back with heels on valslides, arms at your sides for support. 2. Lift your hips into a bridge position, creating a straight line from knees to shoulders. 3. Slide your heels away from your body, extending your legs while keeping hips up during the valslide leg curl. 4. Pull your heels back toward your glutes by contracting your hamstrings in the valslide leg curl motion. 5. Control the movement in both directions and repeat for desired reps.
• Keep your core tight throughout the entire valslide leg curl to protect your lower back • Don't let your hips drop when extending your legs during the movement • Focus on squeezing your hamstrings to pull your heels back in the valslide leg curl • Keep your feet flexed and maintain contact with the slides at all times
• Dropping your hips during the leg extension phase of the valslide leg curl, which reduces effectiveness • Using your arms to help instead of relying on your hamstrings and glutes for the valslide leg curl • Moving too fast and losing control of the sliding motion
