The rope cable preacher curl builds bigger biceps with constant tension throughout the movement. It targets your arms from a different angle than regular curls.
1. Set up a preacher bench in front of a cable machine with rope attachment at low pulley position. 2. Sit on the preacher bench and rest your upper arms flat against the angled pad. 3. Grab the rope with both hands using a neutral grip, arms extended but not locked out. 4. Curl the rope up by flexing your biceps, keeping your wrists straight and elbows planted on the pad. 5. Slowly lower the rope cable preacher curl back to starting position with control.
• Keep your chest up and shoulders back throughout the rope cable preacher curl movement. • Don't let your elbows flare out - keep them pointing straight down. • Squeeze your biceps hard at the top of each rep. • Control the weight on the way down - don't let it slam back to start.
• Moving too fast and using momentum instead of muscle control during rope cable preacher curl. • Lifting your upper arms off the preacher pad, which reduces the exercise effectiveness. • Going too heavy and not getting a full range of motion.
