Exercise Description

The step behind rotational medicine ball throw builds explosive rotational power and core strength. It trains your obliques to generate force while your whole core stabilizes.

How To

1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a medicine ball with both hands at chest level. 2. Step your right foot behind and across your left leg while rotating your torso to the left for the step behind rotational medicine ball throw. 3. Drive the medicine ball across your body toward the wall or partner with explosive force. 4. Let your back foot pivot naturally as you release the ball during the step behind rotational medicine ball throw movement. 5. Reset your stance, catch or retrieve the ball, then repeat on the opposite side.

Form Tips

• Keep your core tight throughout the entire step behind rotational medicine ball throw movement • Step deep behind your front leg to create maximum torso rotation and power • Follow through completely with your arms after releasing the ball during the step behind rotational medicine ball throw • Keep your chest up and eyes focused forward throughout the exercise

Common Mistakes

• Stepping too shallow behind the front leg, reducing the rotational power of the step behind rotational medicine ball throw • Throwing with just your arms instead of using your whole core and hips to generate force • Not following through completely with the step behind rotational medicine ball throw, cutting the movement short
